Why we started Prakriti.
A name, a material, and a question we could not stop asking.

Prakriti means nature.
It is the Sanskrit word for the natural world as it exists before human hands shape it. We chose it because it describes exactly what we want our products to do: start from nature, serve your table well, and return to nature when they are done.
We started Prakriti because we were tired of tableware that pretended to be sustainable. Paper plates with plastic laminate. Biodegradable labels on products that take decades to break down.
We wanted something honest. Plates and bowls made from materials you could name. Bagasse today. Bamboo and ceramic next. Nothing hidden, nothing synthetic, nothing that outlasts its welcome.
Prakriti is built in India, for Indian tables. The materials are local. The prices are honest. And when you are done with each piece, the earth takes it back.
What we believe
Material honesty
We name every material. No vague claims, no hidden plastics.
Design first
Sustainability should not look like a compromise. It should look better.
Made in India
Local materials, local production, honest prices for Indian households.
See what we make.
Every product, compostable or reusable, made from materials that grew in soil.
